Jaycee Cox placed first overall individually and first high individual for placing of classes at the Washington FFA State Livestock Judging contest held during the Spokane Junior Show on Friday, May 2, 2025. Jaycee placed fourth individually at the same contest in 2024. This contest is dubbed the premier event in the Pacific Northwest, with 233 contestants from 41 Washington FFA chapters. WaHi’s chapter team (including Jaycee, Reagan Leiferman, Max Cox, Kinzey Appleford, and Kiauna Snyder) placed a respectable 19th overall. Jaycee and her freshman sister, Delaynee, exhibited sheep at the show as well, earning several ribbons, and earning callbacks to championship classes.
Jaycee earned the highest livestock showmanship award at our county fair last fall, the all-around showman award. Jaycee was the Grand Champion Beef Showman and then went on to compete with the other champions to show all species in a round robin style of competition.
Jaycee is earning a solid reputation as a talented and knowledgeable showman through her competitive nature and success at jackpot shows. She and her sister are also building a flock of sheep, which is gaining popularity for their high quality and excellent genetics. Congratulations to Jaycee and Delaynee on their hard work and dedication to their craft.
